Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Tarin has been practising as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist since 2013, with a special interest in gait retraining whether it is working with the elderly or athletes.
Tarin has experience in a range of clinical settings, which allows her to constantly challenge herself to develop innovative exercise and lifestyle modification interventions for people seeking advice for management of their conditions.
Tarin commonly works with people living with heart failure, COPD, osteoporosis, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, osteoarthritis, diabetes and pre- and post-natal mothers.
Tarin finds great reward in being able to provide exercise interventions and education that assist people with chronic conditions to lead a better life, whether it be by improving their confidence and daily functioning, pain management, feeling ‘fitter’ or for athletes, competing at their optimum capacity.
Tarin has also been involved with the Cancer Council ENRICH program at Peak Health Gymea, which encourages cancer survivors and their carers to use exercise and nutrition to improve their health.
Along with Tarin’s multiple degrees and massage therapy certificate, she has also undergone additional training in K-taping and uses this to assist with posture training, pain management and muscle activation.
Outside of work, you can find Tarin with her two Rhodesian Ridgebacks ‘Archie’ and ‘Ollie” at the beach or bushwalking.
